Artist Statement

I make work in consideration of formal elements, line, shape, color and their relationships. I take comfort in the order of forms, simple abstract subjects, a reductive aesthetic, hard-edge and the handmade. I seek to capture/create a visual vocabulary, organic in nature, inspired by and rendered through non-representational imagery.

My current practice involves free drawing and a desire to make sense of, or bring order, logic or resolution to the abstract subjects at play. I then enjoy the challenge of painting my drawings and capturing the fluidity and gesture of the original drawings.
